Two Groundswell projects, outlined just below, reflect our
expertise in systems integration, our commitment to results and our
belief in mentoring clients to enhance their internal capabilities.
Success story: national sporting goods retailer
In 2005, Canada’s largest national sporting goods retailer selected
TIBCO as their enterprise integration platform. With no formal
integration strategy in place, and no experience with a structured EAI
toolset, this client was very much a ‘green field’ for integration.
Through 2005 and 2006, we designed, developed and implemented a major
integration project between the product management and warehouse
management applications. Building on this success, we then provided a
framework to incorporate real-time product information into the firm’s
newly redeveloped web sites. With a robust integration hardware and
software environment established, a solid integration architecture put
in place and a successful mentoring process completed, this company is
now enjoying the operational and financial benefits of integration.
Success story: oil and gas firm
In 2003, an oil and gas firm selected TIBCO as the enterprise
integration platform, with the firm’s consulting partners developing
and deploying two integration solutions. In 2005, Groundswell was
engaged to assess the state of their EAI service offering. We
identified significant gaps in the company’s EAI offering and
recommended and provided support and improvements. Once the technical
side was in good shape, we observed a number of business barriers still
remaining. To address these, we marketed the services of the firm’s EAI
Centre of Excellence to all its business units. This resulted in the
development and deployment of over 20 production integration solutions,
which we support to this day. Overall costs are now 30% less than in
2003, despite a several-fold production increase.
